  I have been battling spine issues since January 2014. Following several rounds of injections and traditional physical therapy as well as a two-level spinal fusion, my symptoms were still returning like clockwork shortly after each treatment. My neck, right shoulder, and right arm suffered constant throbbing, pins and needles, burning, and numbness in varying degrees, By early May 2017, I was at the end of my rope. Every day was torture. I was trying to avoid taking strong painkillers but the pain was exhausting and some days I had to succumb. My orthopedic surgeon informed me that only another spinal fusion would end my pain. I’m still paying off the huge co-payment from the last one! I saw my future as an immobile one with my spine slowly being fused one level at a time, my family continuously crushed by co-payments. I know it sounds dramatic, but some nights I honestly wished I’d die in my sleep and spare us all the suffering.
  
  During this time, I was sitting in the lobby of one of the buildings on the college campus where I work, when a colleague walked by. Seeing the pain on my face as I slumped in the chair as comfortably as possible under my difficult circumstances, she asked if I was okay. I explained what I’d been going through. Tears were in my eyes.
  
  My friend offered a suggestion. She was kind and not pressuring in any way. She mentioned that she’d had a similar problem in her lower back and began seeing a local chiropractor. Three weeks into treatment, she said, she was virtually pain free. I called Lake Nona Family Chiropractic five minutes later and made an appointment for the following week.
  
  After reviewing my x-rays and situation, Dr. Frank assured me that treatment could be done, even with my fusion, and that I would experience a great improvement over time. Two months later, I am thrilled to say that he was absolutely right. While I am not completely pain-free, I only experience very minor numbness in my hand and forearm a few times a day rather than constantly. I am able to sleep comfortably and through the night for the first time in years. The adjustments that I receive each week, coupled with the exercises I do at home which are much different than those I did in physical therapy and specifically target the spine, have made a world of difference to my life. I now look forward to waking up every day rather than wishing I wouldn’t wake up at all.
  
  I am now beginning regular exercises to get my body back to it’s former strength and I look forward to working with Dr. Frank and Dr. Christopher to make further improvements to my health in the chiropractic lifestyle. I cannot recommend this treatment strongly enough. Thank you Dr. Frank for saving my life!
